Original oil painting on canvas by listed artist, Larry Fanning (CA, CO, KS, 1938-2014), signed lower left & dated '83. Features a portrait of a Native American elder in traditional attire with wolf. Art measures 24"h x 20" w mounted in a frame measuring 29" x 25".
Available payment options
We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information.
Fanning is known for his powerful iconography of figures, mountains, changing seasons & beautiful scenes of the West. Collector demand soon outpaced his supply, and his paintings appear in collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America. His work has won numerous awards, has been featured on publication covers & has been the recipient of a host of articles. He was elected to membership in the Society of Animal Artists, has two paintings that were selected for the National Museums Tour and his “Colorado Buffalo” piece was selected for display in the Colorado State Capitol.
