Original watercolor landscape on paper by listed artist, John Koerner  (Canada, 1913 - 2014), signed upper left. Art measures 12" h x 17" w matted & mounted in a frame measuring 18" x 22".

We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information. 

Koerner is  is a member of the Canadian Group of Painters (Vice-Pres. 1959-60), the B.C. Society of Artists (Pres. 1956-58) and an Associate of the Royal Canadian Academy (1960).  He was also a Vancouver Art Gallery Council Member (1955-60). 

As well as being widely published, his works are in many private, corporate and public collections. Some of the public collections are; the National Gallery of Canada, The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, The  Musée d'Art Contemporain, The London Public Library & Art Museum, The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria ( B.C.), The Vancouver Art Gallery, The  Winnipeg Art Gallery, The  Edmonton Art Gallery, The Seattle Art Museum, Hart House, The Agnes Etherington Art Centre, The McMichael Collection, The Lord Beaverbrook Museum, The University of British Columbia, The Tate (London, England) and in the Hirshhorn Collection of the Smithsonian Institution (Washington). His murals can be seen at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Vancouver, B.C.; and at the Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan, B.C.
 
He has won many exhibition awards and prizes.  In addition he is the recipient of the Canadian Centennial Medal, awarded (only once, on July 1, 1967) by the government of Canada to individuals who were determined to have provided valuable service to Canada.
