Original watercolor painting on paper by listed Hawaiian artist, David Howard Hitchcock (1861-1943), signed lower left. Features a Hawaiian beach hut nestled amongst the mountains & palm trees. Art measures 8" h x 11" w mounted in a frame measuring 18" x 20".

We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information. 

Long regarded as one of the most important interpreters of the Hawaiian landscape, David Howard Hitchcock had a lengthy and prolific career, spanning more than sixty years. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, he was the first Hawaii-born painter to receive formal art training in Paris. D. Howard Hitchcock did numerous paintings of volcanoes, which circulated widely enough to attract tourist attention to the islands. Exh: Paris Salon; Gump's (SF); Alaska-Yukon Expo (Seattle); St Francis Hotel; Panama-Calif. Expo; Honolulu Academy of Arts; GGIE; NY World's Fair. His work is in the collections of Honolulu Academy of Arts; Boston Museum; Oakland Museum & Bishop Museum (Honolulu).
