Etching on paper by listed artist, Richard Evett Bishop (PA, 1887 - 1975), signed lower right & titled lower left "Take Them Now!". Art measures 11" h x 14" w matted & presented in a frame measuring 18" x 20".

We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information. 

Richard Evett Bishop was an etcher and painter of wildlife subjects, particularly ducks and geese. He also etched a number of Christmas cards which are now in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., along with four other wildlife prints.

Bishop was a member of the Philadelphia Print Club, the Chicago Society of Etchers, the Philadelphia Society of Etchers, the Society of American Etchers, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Philadelphia Watercolor Club, Philadelphia Art Alliance, and California Printmakers. He was the author of a book titled "Bishop's Birds", published in 1936 by J.B. Lippincott. Bishop's paintings and prints may be found in the Honolulu Art Museum, the Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He was the original artist for the prestigious Federal Duck Stamp program at its inaugural in 1936.
