CR Mackintosh is one of the most important figures of the Art Nouveau movement. He developed his own signature style: a contrast between strong right angles and floral-inspired decorative motifs with subtle curves (for example, the Mackintosh Rose motif). Projects that helped make his international reputation was the Glasgow School of Art, Hill House, Glasgow Herald offices & more. He is also known for his botanical watercolors. His work has been featured by the Metropolitan Museum of Art & The Mackintosh House which forms an integral part of the University of Glasgow's Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery--home to the world's largest collection of Mackintosh's work.
