Berkey & Gay Furniture Company Victorian style vanity in a pear green with gilded details. Features one central drawer with hand painted flowers, flanked by two smaller drawers right being stamped with metal company label. Stands on turned legs and crowned with a mirror with hand painted flowers. Accompanied by a matching canned vanity bench. Measures 64” tall, 47” wide and 19” deep.
Available payment options
We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information.
Berkey & Gay Furniture Company (1866 - 1931 ; 1935 - 1948)
Many Berkey & Gay designs required a considerable amount of hand craftsmanship, so the company cultivated large departments of carvers and decorators. Some including Fred Weber and Chris Haraldstadt, grew up in America but came from regions of Germany and Norway that were known for their carving traditions, and worked for forty years or more at Berkey & Gay. Others, like Florentine master carver Leopold Baillot, and Japanese decorator Fugi Nakamiso, were recruited through American foreign embassies to bring their experience overseas, to work for Berkey & Gay.
