Antique ten panel wood ancestor screen. Hand painted front Depicting the eight immortals in Chinese mythology in between carvings of lotus flowers and birds among others. The back depicts heavily carved scenes along with depictions eulogizing departed family. This Ancestor screen would have been placed in a family cemetery or shrine. The individuals mentioned were from the Chinese working class circa the turn of the 20th century late Quing dynasty. The panels connect with eye hooks and inset rods. Each panel measures 74.5” tall, 14.5” wide and 1.5” thick.
Available payment options
We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house.
