Lot 378:
Bookends depict a monkey reading a book entitled "Essays on Evolution." It is signed on the back "Pat appld for, Chicago, Howe Fdy Co." Created in response to the famous Scopes Monkey Trial in 1925. Each measures 6¾" tall x 3¼" wide x 3" deep and has a nice verdigris patina.
