Pair of original oil paintings on board by listed artist, Gladys Marie Baxter Duckworth (CA, 1904 – 1981), signed "Verne" lower right, which was a known alias of hers. Features two sunset scenes of Laguna Beach, CA. Art measures 4.5" h x 4.5" w presented in frames measuring 6.75" x 6.75".
Artist bio: Born in Brockton, Massachusetts September 18, 1904. Gladys lived in London until the onset of World War Two. While there, she wed a man named Duckworth and returned to Boston before settling in Laguna Hills, California. She painted hundreds of small landscapes of southern California and sold them at Knotts Berry Farm and other attractions.
She signed her paintings "Verne".
